My kind of “date” night

I love this date for several reasons. It’s SUPER simple and you can do it up several different ways. I chose to use peanut butter with this one but you can TOTALLY use almond butter if that’s your thing. Sweet. Savory. And Simple. You can also make as little or as many as you want at a time! I literally only made four today. They are high in calorie (156 cals per piece) BUT…one is PLENTY to satisfy your sweet tooth and there is no added sugar. Medjool dates are a great natural source of energy and have a ton of vitamins. Dr. Axe made a pretty nice graphic so I posted it below for your reference =)

Ingredients:

  • Organic Medjool Dates (however many you want to make)
  • Peanut Butter (or almond butter)
  • 1/2 cups Chocolate for melting ( I used dark…but you can use unsweetened etc.)
  • 1 TBSP Olive oil or coconut oil
  • Sea Salt

Directions:

  1. Lay out a sheet of freezer or parchment paper
  2. Pit the dates
  3. Put 1/2 TBSP inside each date
  4. Heat 1/2 cup of chocolate with olive oil or coconut oil
  5. Roll the dates in the melted chocolate and place them on parchment paper (or freezer paper
  6. Sprinkle with sea salt
  7. Freeze for 20 minutes
  8. Enjoy!!
  9. Keep leftovers refrigerated 😉
