Healthy Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Why add sugar to something that already has a natural sweetness? This banana bread recipe is gooey and perfect for those of you looking for a dense and healthy alternative to your typical sugar filled banana bread. I added chocolate chips because DUH…IT MADE IT EVEN THAT MUCH BETTER. I personally like to use whole wheat flour but you can also you buckwheat to stay on the healthy side!

This looks amazing! I love something easy to grab and sweet in the morning. I will be hiding 3 bananas (from the kids) so they can ripen fully and I can make this. How much chocolate chips did you add? I don’t see a measurement in the recipe.

Hi Cara! That’s a great plan! =) Thanks for noticing that! I put 1.5 cups of “mini” chocolate chips in because I like it extra chocolaty hehehe but one cup would also be plenty especially if you are using regular sized chips! Let me know how it turns out! Happy baking!

Made this tonight and it was amazing! I used coconut milk because I didn’t have almond milk and just 1 cup of mini chocolate chips. My kids are begging for another piece (and my son doesn’t even like bananas). It’s going to be an easy, delicious breakfast tomorrow! Thanks for the recipe! Can’t wait to try your others.
